Balinese Culture

Hewhewhew!!! Ok ok this time betul-betul nak hidupkan and update this blog like seriously. I'm back! This is because I'm too excited for Bali vacation which was recently had. Due to hubby's hectic schedule and money matters we haven't had any trip (I mean family trip) last year... not even in local, overseas apatah lagi kan....
The happy faces

Had our first dinner by the beach at Bawang Merah Beachfront Restaurant in Jimbaran. Supposed to have it during sunset but paham-paham la kan... Tak sah tak delay when you travel with Air Asia.

We had those bakar-bakar... ikan bakar, udang bakar, sotong bakar, and many more... served with vegetable soup, some kerabu taugeh and rice.

And done!
(Cantiknya pantai di belakang kiteorang tu. Hmmm.....)

Barong Dance is a must see performance which I think every tour agent will add into your itinerary. The show is in the morning (yawn....) and we're late approximately about 30 minutes for the show. Sebab ada anak kecil sebab itu lambat :)

I didn't know what's going on. I didn't even understand the language they were using in the performance. Some sort of Bali language perhaps. Visitors are provided with the story line accordingly. Bacalah dan fahamilah if you are desired to know.

Batik handmade printing.

The sarong weaving.  Renyah betul tengok coz according to our tour guide  it takes about a month or two to prepare the threads. Patut lah mahal-mahal belako.

In front of the souvenir shop. Masih mampu tersenyum even berhabis ratusan ringgit. Hoh mahal betul Bali compare dengan China or Thailand. Keychain kayu pun mahal. Belum lagi t-shirt I LOVE Bali untuk my siblings yang berlima orang itu. But the quality of the t-shirt is pretty good. Unlike the one that sold by the road or pasar malam yang bila selepas basuh kiri jadi kanan, kanan jadi kiri.

Next tour....

The Batur Volcano and it's lake in Kintamani. Picca not that clear due to hazy and slight rain but I actually could see the smoke coming out clearly. SubhanAllah...

We had our lunch here. Up in the highland with the fascinating view of  Mount Batur. It's an Indonesian buffet lunch.

Our next destination is to visit coffee plantation. Not only coffee trees are planted here but all kinds of herbs plantation such as lemon grass, ginger, ginseng, vanilla, tea etc. What interesting here is the coffee and tea are processed traditionally. They use organic fertilizer to grow the plantation.  And kat sini juga adanya kopi luwak tu... The coffee that is made from fox poops. I'm not dare to have it. Do you?

Kembung perut rasa semua yang dihidang. Dasar tak boleh terima benda percuma.

And after those coffee and tea testing haruslah membeli-belah product mereka.

Another must see performance when you visit Bali is Kechak Dance which is performed in the early evening. Just like the Barong Dance, I couldn't get the language they were using and according to my tour guide, they use old Bali and Sanskrit language. What I knew is the climax of the show is when the man jumped into the bonfire and extinguished it using his own foot.

Last but not least... crispy duck dinner at Ambassador Restaurant before we called it a night and returned to the hotel.
